Doing well in law school so far

I got 4 out of my 5 grades so far, and I have a 3.25 GPA as of now, and the curve at my school is like a 2.8/2.9. Hoping for an A in that last class. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif 3.25 might not sound that great, but law school grades are on a strict curve that GPA actually puts me in the top 25% of my class.

yeah my schools curve is below yours (lower than UF also), but I'm all good. I cant believe you don't have one of your grades in yet, thats ridiculous. I did bad in Business Entities, but I studied the night before the exam (and I hated the class)because I had 2 other exams right before that exam. I had no grades before wednesday of last week. We only got the first two grades like last tuesday, and then wednesday they gave us one more, and then on friday I got my legal writing grade. Cross your fingers for me though bro, I am waiting on torts which is a 4 credit class here (normal is 3 credits). my post was ambiguous...I had one 4 hour exam 3 days in a row. But, some of my friends DID have 2 exams on one day but they were only 2 hours each.

oh ok thats not THAT bad. BTW you probably know more about the job market then I, if I can manage to finish this year with top 25% or better, do you think I could get some pretty good jobs out of this place or at least land a really good 2L summer internship with that kind of rank? I am assuming you remember where I go to school? It's a tier 2

No just start digging your grave now...jk. My gf's cousin does maritime law down here and he banks. He graduated from your school. Getting an internship is easier with a higher GPA, but my friend had a 2.5 and he got a job last summer at a premier insurance law firm down here. It's all about connections...

how is the best way to start establishing connections within a profession? It seems like the hardest part is just getting started. I know a few lawyers but I don't want to outright ask them to hook me up with jobs, that seems very rude and I also doubt they can personally do anything. The lawyers I know are all my neighbors though, and we are close family friends with nearly all of them. I don't know any lawyers not through my parents though.

law school is actually pretty awesome, it completely changes the way you view the world. I like it a lot more than college, and the classes are not boring at all.
