Does this look good?

So after messing around with WinISD I finally think I got the enclosure I am looking for. This sub (LANZAR OPTI 1533D) is weird to say the least. Should I make the box a little smaller or am I okay? I am going to be running two ap1800s strapped at 2.4 ohm, so about 3000 rms or so. The box is 5.5^3 before sub displacement tuned at 40 hz.

I doubt it'll take 3k daily.

Why do you think that? I used to know a guy that ran a pair of opti1233ds and he abused them like crazy and they held up fine with 3k daily. Sad that he moved to Nevada and I lost his number :[

blegh, tuned way too high for my taste.
I know it is tuned a bit high but that is what the sub likes ya know? I am going for SPL with decent SQ. The sub will play 30 hz and above which is what 95% of music is played at anyways so it's not like I will be missing much. I just wanted to know if it looked good for burps and daily ground pounding.

I know they are supposed to take 3kW and all.. But I bet you will have to bring the volume down quite a bit for it to handle the power.. Or even then it might not, take it easy on the gain at first and see what you get.

Try 4.5 cubes net tuned to 35hz and see what happens.

A PAIR, you said it yourself.

I wouldn't do 3kw to a pair of subs from a company that hasn't made anything amazing since before the years started with 2.

The other opti subs do rated and then some. The opti amps do rated....

40hz is not daily IMO, it's approaching an SPL only box. If you want it to be musical, tune lower. I wouldn't trade my low frequencies for anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

So basically, you are saying the new amps are as good as the old stuff they made, like the Opti 100?

Their subs are decent, I will give them that. But I don't see 3kw PER SUB happening daily with that high of a tuning, period.
