Does sub back/port up = sub up/port back?

In an suv it seems that people like to have a box with sub up and port back. I'm trying to save as much cargo space as I can so I'm think about mounting my sub vertical firing towards the back doors.

So can I fire the sub back and port up and be fine?

also, i have had allot of good luck with sub firing left, port firing back, allong with the right wall for best driver seat response. more so than flipping the same box sub up, port back allong the floor.... i tend to build more in that orientation in suv's.
