Does rear-out/sub-out produce full sound?

I have a head unit with only one set of rca preouts on it. I want to run a 4ch amp (infinity 475a) off of it with two channels to the front mids and two channels bridged to a sub. If I set the head unit to rear-out instead of sub-out will it send all the frequencies to the sub so I can run the mids from it too? This would be accomplished using an rca splitter I believe.

Also, If I set it up this way, will the head unit still send signal through the high level outputs so I can run the rear 6x9 off the head unit?

Basically will this work?

I just want to make sure the 6x9 on the high level speaker wires will still work from the HU if I turn the rear-out setting on and run the doors and sub off an amp from the low level outputs . (It's for the passengers or I wouldn't even worry about rear fill)

Why not run both of your mids and highs off the front of the amp, and bridge your rear channels for the subs. Make sure you have a proper x'over on both the front and rear channels of the amp. Yes your rear output will play full range.

Check the ohm load on the subs to make sure you dont drive you amp too low.

The headunit only has one set of rca outs in the back (two plugs L/R). It's a cxs-gt09. The amp only has low level (rca) inputs and I don't want to spend money on a line converter (hence the splitter). All speakers are 4ohm as well as the amp. If it was my car I'd just omit the 6x9's but it's my gf and she likes to ride friends around in the back seat.. sigh.. I'm not concerned with amping the 6x9s in the back. I just want to amp the door speakers and the sub and let the rear 6x9 run off of the headunit.

Yeah if you have it set to rear out instead of sub out it will put out all freq. At least it should.

Just realized you are here in STL.

Where you stay at dude?
