Does it matter what gauge wire you use...

to wire the sub inside the box? from the sub to the terminal and from the terminal to the amp? what is preferred? i have always just used like 16 gauge speaker wire, is that bad?

Depends on the power you're running... but the high voltage coming from the amp lets you get away with significantly smaller wire than what you would use for power wire.

Ive always used atleast 12g wire in most of my installs, not sure of the difference it makes but i get peace of mind from it.

well i never have done an insanely big build, but i guess it wouldnt hurt to go with 12 gauge wire.

wont hurt anything having a larger wire, wont cost you much more either

16ga is usually fine since the amp isnt to far from the sub

if you got some thing handy it will work
