Lets say i have an amp thats running 2000rms. If i were to have it pushing the actual 2000 rms at 40hz would it require LESS power then pushing 2000rms at 80hz?
It should be the same. Should. A Class T amp might draw a bit less at the lower freq just because of how it works, but the difference between 40Hz and 80hz on a Class T would be probably close to immeasurable. The difference between 40Hz and 2kHz would be noticable though. For a Class D or Class A/B there will not be a difference. Efficiency is based on percent of max power for a Class A/B and fairly constant for a Class D regardless of frequency.
