Does anyone have JL XR-650 comps mounted in kick panel pods?

If so, how do they sound? I have mine mounted in the doors and I think the mids suffer because of this. I don't think these mids like being mounted in the doors because they have no mid-bass punch. I'm just wondering if mounting them in kick panel enclosures would correct this problem.

I know that my D6 didnt sound too good just in the doors. I made some fiberglass door poods for them and the picked up a good amount of midbass.
