I thought ultra linear made real high end stuff but I could be mixing it up with phase linear or something?

I think your mixing it up with the old "linear power" stuff......

Ultra linear is OK...... It WILL NOT do its rated power but its better then some junk out there.. Stereo King (reputable chain in NW) out of Portland Oregon carries them as an house brand.. Years ago i used some of there speakers and they actually sounded decent... Thats all i know..
