does an amp that puts out 500 @ 4 Ohm and 1000 @ 1 Ohm exist?

Ok.... I have been posting a lot of questions the last few weeks, so I tried to research this on my own... but it is driving me crazy!

I have search these threads and the net all weekend.... read specs on everything from Audiobahn thru US Acoustics (and everything in-between).....

I give up.... I will just ask....

"Is there a mono, class D amp, that will put out 500W RMS @ 4 Ohm, and 1000W RMS @ 1 Ohm, for under $400???"

This is to power my recently ordered Ed 12" O.44 (DVC), with the option of adding a second down the road (hence the 1ohm).... or do I need multi-channel?

Thanks for the reply JMac. But, how would I know a single O12.44 is 2 or 8 ohms? On their website is says:

e12O.44 12" high excursion small box driver. 500RMS/1000 peak. Dual 4 ohm

I took that to mean 4 ohms for one, and you are saying it would be 4 + 4 because it is a DVC sub?

JMac, I just answered my own question..... I re-read paikiah very helpfull thread in the wiring forum (http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31984) which shows the DVC single 4 ohm sub wired as a 2 or 8 ohm load....

Ok, now I need to find a sub that can handle this configuration.... what a moron I am....
