dodge neon cd player

My cd's seemed to be jammed, sounds like it's ready to play but nothing happens and comes up with "error" won't eject either. How big of a job is this, I have a little bit of experience in wiring, was hoping to get some advice, or should I just not attempt this? Thanks for you time!

try a cleaning cd...if that doesn't work pull it out of the dash...find the laser lens and then very gently clean it with a q-tip and some 91% rubbing alcohol...i've done that several times to my alpine...

Common problem with that series Chrysler CD player. Lots of guys on the Neon forums have had trouble. My Jeep has the same series radio and it has died similarly. The only option is to replace the unit. Excuse to upgrade if it isn't still under warranty.
