I just recently purchased a Dodge magnum 5.7L hemi vehicle. It is a 2005 with 70k miles and got it for 10k out the door. (the dealer was pissed). I made them fix alignment and all, but it was very minimal.

I am new to car upgrades and such what can I upgrade to make the horsepower better? Chips, programmers, exhaust. All of this is kind of new to me. You suggest it and I'll probably buy it.

I would say intake , long tube headers , magna flow exhaust

You dont want to use chips your pcm can adjust for the chip and will put you right back at stock Find a shop that dyno tunes that is what you want they go in and change the computer itself

rear end gears like 373s those are a few minor mods tht will get you a better sound and a lil horse power

thanks for some good information. I dont know if it really is the alignment, just pulls a tiny tiny bit.

You realize a chip uploads a new program to the PCM, effectively doing the same thing as a dyno tune. Always go for a dyno tune if possible but second best is to find a good mail order tuner. Dont get a generic tuner plugin as they dont work nearly as good.

I know for my car the tuner asked for specifics about mods and such, how firm I wanted the shift points, etc. I dont know of any mail order tuners for dodge but Im sure they exist.

As for engine upgrades the RT Charger and Challenger should use most of the same parts. Check them all out.

I know Mopar was doing a supercharger deal when you bought a RT or SRT - 8. It was 1500.00 if you had the dealer do it.

hmm ive been looking at super charger kits that add 85 hp for 5000-8000 dollars. are there cheaper ones? im a newb to all of this.
