Is the RE sub and the JL the same size? Like - would you be trading a 12" sub for a 12" sub? Or is it trading a smaller XXX for a larger Dub 7? That, in my mind, would be the only reason to do it. If sizewise it would be an even swap I'd keep the RE no questions.

Most people that have tried both like the sound of the W7 more. Aside from exclusivity, I'd get the W7.

If they're the same size you're not going to notice a huge difference...I'd go W7 though.

Remember however, that the W7's have 3 ohm coils IIRC, so you may not get the power you'd like.

Well I make lots of threads about XXX's because that isthe sub i have. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif And it seems to do fine in that box, im not sure I would want it any louder anyway. My trunk space is much too small to get a ported box in there and i don't have the dough or the skill to make a fiberglass box.

um.

regardless of the trade or not, a bigger ported box is what both speakers want. and if you seal EAITHER ONE in 1.2 cubes, a 9.1 is not gonna cut it. specially if the W7 is SVC3 and not DVC3.

i've heard both. different cars and different wattages. but from that subjective perspective, i'd take the w7. i thought the w7 was way cleaner and still got plenty loud.
