Thats somewhat of an ignorant statement, the animal kingdom as a whole is much different then the mutt licking his balls on your couch.Animals fight and kill each other in order to survive and procreate, it is well documented that animals will go out of their way to avoid unnecessary conflict.

No animal under it's own decision has ever killed, hurt or argued another animal or human over any Deity figure.

Gods the one who created animals right?, and they do as they are predisposed to do as god intended.

(hold on I'm onto something here)

Now if animals are doing things as god intended maybe we are the ones that are doing it all wrong!, when is the last time you saw a raccoon performing a religious ceremony?.

I am going to start my own religion called "AS GOD INTENDED".

In this religion our whole point of existing will be to pass along the best genetic material possible.

How do we do this?

Girls, go ahead and screw all the smartest, hottest guys you can so that you may have the best possible offspring and secure the safest possible environment to protect them ensure they reach adulthood.

Guys, bang all the "healthiest"(hot) girls you can get your dick into (sorry **** not allowed its against my bible), ensure that your genetic code is combined with the best possible samples and provide shelter and assistance to the offspring to guarantee that your seed survives.

All people with genetic "faults" will not be killed but rather not allowed to reproduce(or post here).

Yep, it will be awsome.
The scary thing is if you read the bible it says something along these lines. The intent of God was for there to be a family (father mother son or daughter) the parents were to take care of the children until they married and the cycle would then repeat. Society instead has altered this plan to, screw as many people as you can don't have children, if you get pregnant you can have an abortion and if marriage doesn't work just get divorced. Personally I liked God's plan but for some strange reason man loves to change the plan for what he feels is better (ofcourse in the longrun it will always show to be worse than God's plan because God has a little more wisdom).

Ok, as the OP i read most of the posts and I do understand where most of you stand, as that is generally the world. I hate sounding like I just watched the matrix or something, but hear me out:
What if you were given a choice at the very beginning. You don't have to make this choice until you can understand it, making it a fair choice. But you are to choose inbetween religion and science. And as a subchoice, you need to choose which religion and science. Do you think you would believe what you do today?

Most of you probably were imposed onto your parents' religion when you were born. That is fine, I am a born Lutheran. I willingly renounce my faith and refuse to go to church, unless it is for my parents or fiance's sake. I am asking that question as you are not born into anything.

So your fiance is christian but you dont like church or don't believe in God? If your beliefs vary from your fiance is she aware of this? Not to be mean but your marriage may be tough.

Those that believe in science and those that believe in god really tend to only vary on one major point; what started everything? Science says big bang, those that believe in God say God.

Personally I believe in God because everything had to be timed and placed so perfectly for life to exist that it seems the chances of an event creating it on its own to be slim. But all you college students can bring the claim that. The chances of being dealt a certain hand is equal for all hands. All the slightly different variations had an equal chance of occurring in the beginning a believer in science would tell you.

I don't believe in a religion. I believe in God. I believe in a certain set of what I consider facts that gave me the oppertunity to make it into heaven. So if it came down to science or a religion I would select a religion that fit with my beliefs about God and heaven and hell.

Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian:

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

God is all powerful. Adam knew that. God told him you may eat fruit from all other trees but this one; if you eat from this one you will die. If that wasn't enough in itself to stop Adam from making a better decision having even more insight into the ramifications of his decision probably wouldn't have either.

I believe in a certain set of what I consider facts that gave me the oppertunity to make it into heaven.
Just because you consider them to be facts doesn't mean they are. Like I said, you can believe what you want, but to tell anyone else your version of the facts is right is rediculous, given that none of "God's Truths, or God's will" can be proven It is all a matter of perception, if you choose to believe the bible, that is fine, but To tell others they are wrong for not subscribing to your version of truth is just wrong.
