I will start off by saying that I am agnostic. I don't believe in god, but I understand why people do.
I was just reading the new accident thread, and came to the part where "god was watching him." If you really believe this, do you think god would have let this happen?

Let's say you are in New York, and you are about to get mugged, then shot and killed. If god were "watching" you, do you think he would let the bullet hit you? It should stop in mid-air right in front of you, right? or god wouldn't let the muggers gun work at all. Or god would smyte the mugger somehow before he even began?

basically, I want to know why you believe in god.

I don't believe in god because I have grown up being a very scientific person. I find an explanation for everything. The bible is a book of stories that have been translated over and over again, more than likely most of them are fables to begin with. Most people who claim that can change me just give up.

i believe in God and i am saved, and on my way to heaven, but believe what u want to, not trying to make u change your beliefs, but when i person sins, he/she seperates himself/herself from God, if u are seperated from God how can he protect you? these people you are refering to must have had sin in there life. the bible says all sins will be paid for, here on earth or in heaven at the throne of judgement. the bible also says we must die out to sin daily, in other words ask God for forgivess.

spoken like a true bible belter from the midsouth...

Ya'll Sin Mon-Sat and pretend to ask for forgivness on Sunday

then do it all over again week after week...

Define "Sin"....

it maybe relative to your beliefs not necessarily mine

first off, noone is perfect, i will be the first to tell you i sin everyday. when i ask forgiveness i dont pretend.

second sin is some wrong thing you do to get out of the will of God. read the 10 commandments....that is sin and anything dealing with them.

and thirdly i didnt say anything about your beliefs, again, believe what u want to....

true no one is perfect........we agree there:cool:

Well, I'm the one that was in the accident and made the recent post about it.

A high speed double roll over, and we walked away from it relatively unharmed.

Yes, I do completely believe in God.

I believe that he was the reason that we did walk away from this kind of wreck. Good luck itself doesn't quite cover it on it's own.

Fact is, I believed in God before this accident. This is not some new revelation for me.

Some may ask why God would let this happen, and I would reply, Why did God allow us to walk away unharmed?

Perhaps the accident was meant to be a message or a wake up call, and us walking away from it was our chance to act upon it. I don't know. But it does put things in a new perspective.

Well you say God should just stop the bullet. He won't do that only because of the key thing here...Free will. He gave all of us our own will to do whatever. So if a guy is going to kill someone he can't stop him because he gave everyone their own will to do w/e with.
