I have looked at many theisms and have friends who belong to all sorts of religions. I have a copy of the Bible, the Qur'an, and pagan texts. For the past decade or so, I have remained agnostic with strong leanings towards deism and pantheism, but I accept the fact that I have never been given substantial proof to say one thing or the other. Even though I have been in numerous events that many other people have described, that to me isn't enough to make that leap of faith towards believing something over another.

What I do know and do believe is that there are a great deal of things that are completely beyond my control and even though the mechanisms of them can be explained, the motivation that drives them can't. So, instead of putting a figurehead up as the commanding force behind them, I put a question mark.

I'm currently split right down the middle.

I was checking out Spinoza's ideas and a lot of it makes sense to me.

"If a stone has fallen from a room onto someone's head and killed him, they will show, in the following way, that the stone fell in order to kill the man. For if it did not fall to that end, God willing it, how could so many circumstances have concurred by chance (for often many circumstances do concur at once)? Perhaps you will answer that it happened because the wind was blowing hard and the man was walking that way. But they will persist: why was the wind blowing hard at that time? why was the man walking that way at that time? If you answer again that the wind arose then because on the preceding day, while the weather was still calm, the sea began to toss, and that the man had been invited by a friend, they will press on -- for there is no end to the questions which can be asked: but why was the sea tossing? why was the man invited at just that time? And so they will not stop asking for the causes of causes until you take refuge in the will of God, i.e., the sanctuary of ignorance. (I, Appendix)"

However, I've also been reading about other stuff like the Great Pyramid and see that there might be more to this world than science can currently explain.

"Yet, Enoch, along with many traditions, even the Mayan legend

of Quetzacoatal, promises a return of this knowledge at "The end

of time", the end of the present time cycle. Bi-lical Revelations

promise "all will be revealed" at the end of the present world.

The extraordinary discoveries in Egypt and other parts of the

world, describe not just an advanced technology but, evolutionary

path beyond our present state. Careful scientific examination of

the world's key pyramid sites, reveal them to be sophisticated

harmonic structures, not only mirroring positions of the planets

and stellar systems but, designed to mimic the chakras and

harmonic cavities of the human body. Even each stone within the

Great Pyramid is harmonically tuned to a specific frequency or

musical tone. The sarcophagus in the center of the Great Pyramid

is tuned to the frequency of the human heart beat.

Astonishing experiments, conducted by Dr. Hurtak and colleagues

at the Great Pyramid and other sites in the South Americas,

demonstrate the pyramids to be voice-activated "geophysical

computers." Intoning specific ancient sounds, the scientific team

produced visible standing waves of light, above and within the

pyramids and were even able to penetrate, hitherto, inaccessible

chambers. Subsequent discoveries indicate the ancient

priest-scientists employed some sort of harmonic sound technology

within the temple structures."

As you can see I look at things in a much broader sense than most people who argue about theology. We'll see where my search ends up.

The important thing is that I think we should all be aware of possibilities.

I'm not sure if I believe in god anymore, but I'm still afraid of him.
we all should be afraid of him, he rules all creation and has the authority to do anything he desires.

yes, i believe, and to answer the original question, God has a reason and a plan for everything that happens. and i mean everything!!
amen to that
