I disagree thoroughly. We have a good understanding of how the universe came to be, all except the first few milliseconds at the very beginning (there are theories, but nothing that has been proven via the scientific method), and none of it involves any kind of intelligent design.
I don't really see how that clearly shows there to be a god....only that our scientific method has yet to describe one of the events of the universe (of which there are many not fully understood by our science.....but that doesn't prove there is a god either, only that our scientific understanding of the universe isn't 100% complete yet).
Again, I'd disagree.
With or without a god, I can decide what I view as being morally or ethically wrong. I don't want you to harm me, hence I wouldn't harm you. I don't want you to take my possessions, hence I wouldn't take yours. I can value my life without god. I can value the time I spend with my family. I can value the time I spend with my friends. I enjoy that time, and don't want it to end any sooner than need be.
Along with that, societal values dictate good and evil. From birth we are taught that this action is wrong, this action is right. It's the basis on which we operate daily. We are conforming to the world around us, as man has shaped it.
