Do you actually ENJOY your career??

This is more for the people who have degress and are working in the field that they studied in. Do you guys actually enjoy your career. For example, do any of you actually look forward to work, or does it not bother you going back in on Monday knowing that you got another 5 days until your next day off? Reason I ask is because there is nothing that I could study for that I would actually want to do for a living. If it were my way, I would race motorcycles, build subs, or be a test driver for a big automotive company. But becoming one of those things is next to impossible. Instead I have the option of studying computer software engineering, or electrical engineering and all those other things that sound boring as hell. How easy is it to open your own business? I've always wanted to work for myself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I hate my real job. I enjoy my job at Lowe's kinda. I don't know what I would be if I could be anything. I'd really like to get into law or something more interesting than making spreadsheets.

Yeah, that's my problem. I'm VERY lazy, and don't like to work long hours( who does right?). I guess I want to have my cake and eat it too (make lots of money while hardly working). Although, having my own business is somethign I've wanted for awhile. How hard is it to do and what are the success rates. Am i going to be broke for 5 years of my life or is it a little easier than that?

Depends on the business...but prepare for some struggle because of the initial investment

My current career kicks ***, I'm a student.

Once I'm out of school I'll get some random job but my immediate goals are starting one or both of the businesses I am planning on. I'm lazy too but the only way to be proffesionally lazy is to become independantly wealthy. This requires alot of work though, so it's work hard now, be lazy later...

i really do like my job, i get to work with cars...something i love...and knowing about them makes my job a piece of cake...however there is a downfall, i travel 9-10 months out of the year...i missed my sons 1st birthday just yesterday...but this it what it takes...i will be off the road soon enough, so im just working towards that...i chose my own degree, i have a degree in mechanical engineering that was mostly paid for by my job...so if this dries up i can put my degree to work, even though i can imagine myself finishing my career here...so i feel comfortable...

What do you do?

working for yourself is definately where all the money is. but along with your business, comes all the stresses of owning it.
x2!!!

you cant be lazy and expect your self employment to keep a roof over your head let alone food in your belly.

NO, it's not. You just tell yourself that so you don't have to take responsibility for doing what you really want. That is called a self-defeating defense mechanism. Jung talks about it a lot. If you don't do what you REALLY want, you actually have to give up a small piece of your soul to the Universe every time you go to your shitty 9-5.

How do I know? Because I have done what you consider impossible //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

It is NOT hard at all to start your own business. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Change happens when the desire outweighs the resistance. So, find what it is in you that is holding you back, dissolve your fears with knowledge (get additional training, study underneath someone who has done what you want to do), and go for it!!

What do you do?
