Care to inform me as to how that statement is a fail? You just compared them to SS and Maxxsonincs products... Which will get the job done but are nothing special these days... So there for in my opinion they are middle of the road...

Reading comprehension is not your strong point is it? I said I wouldn't dump on any brand without hearing them first. I used SS and the others as examples. So, have you auditioned any of the Phantom series or not?
That depends, do you flip out when some one says something unflattering about JL? I'll show you why they are crap after I find official specs. That way when they don't compare to others in same range you can't call me a hater.

I'm not calling you a hater. I'm challenging the act of dumping on ANY brand without hearing them for yourself. PASMag did a review on the 900.4 so, you might want to start there. There's a whole multi-page thread over at DIYMA with lots of good info including more than a few comments from Grizz Archer as well. I think the Phantoms share the same board with Polk as well so, you can compare those models.
Have I owned it? nope. I have walked into a dealer to listen to one on a sound board? yes. Still doesn't change the low build quality and cheap parts they now use.
of course you can, it just takes all other peices of the install to be as high quality as the amplifiers. It also needs the install to be perfect. If anything they are worth the money just for the exclusivity and longevity that comes from the parts used.
