Do I need a crossover?

The passive XO doesn't bandpass the midwoofer, simply low passes it. This simply means your midwoofer will play into the subbass region. If your HU has a HP crossover, you're set. If not, it's not a big deal, but it would help matters if you had a HP at around 60-80hz.
