Depends on the tuning freqeuency.

For a low tuned enclosure (under 30Hz or so), you probably won't need one as most music (with the exception of some organ pieces) doesn't have sustained notes that deep. Unless you're playing subsonic tones //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you have a 35Hz-tuned enclosure or higher, and listen to a lot of low bass, I would start to consider it...you can get Harrison Labs FMODs for pretty cheap if your amp doesn't have a SS filter built in.

No....a subsonic filter works just as any other crossover, it decreases the volume of the note by (12,18,24) DB per octave below the set frequency...

30 HZ is way to high....depending on subs, I would usually put it around 20-25 HZ. Personally I have mine set at 25 Hz for my 8s....Just do 15hz and watch what you play (IE dont play too much of Bass, I love you ) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
