Well I have an ongoing competition with a friend and mine with who has more bass, and I need more than the XXX. I am considering picking those Type R's up though. Can't decide if I want a T0 15 or not...

This is silly. you want to get the best subs possible, and then you pick T0's lol.

I'd take the XXX, it's a good sub.

We need more info about your buddies system. What vehicle? Box specs,tuning? Amp? Electrical? The re xxx can get loud with power and a good box but if he has a bad setup the type R's would walk all over it if you do it right.

Properly setup the type r's have the potential to be louder than the XXX. You have to remember that unless he drives the same minivan as you do (lol if he does) that it isn't a fair comparison.
