Dmm ???

just for basic car audio stuff? I got a $350 fluke when I was installing and most of the time, my $7 Cen-tec from harbor freight was just as accurate. The fluke just has a few extra settings, like I can hook it up to a battery and set the min/max function...play some music for a while, then go back and see what the lowest voltage was.

Spend the money and get a true RMS fluke meter... The more basic models will run a little over $100 and are well worth every penny... Greenlee also makes a nice DMM...
I agree, True RMS is worth the extra money. I ended up with a Fluke 179 which is generally more DMM than the Car Audio hobbiest will use, but if your going to be trouble shooting or using it to enhance your system, I would spring for the min/max and auto ranging features they make life easier
