dmm

since im new too using a dmm. and i just got one from radio shack. which dial do i turn to to figure out how many ohms im running or too figure out if my subwoofer is working correctly like the voice coil
the one that looks like an upside down horse shoe

mine doesn't have that. its probably the one that saids ohms. but which one do i click to 2m, 200k, 20k , 2k, or 200
you just asked us how to test the ohms of your subs and your amp says ohms on it? wow you're a bright one. you put it on the 200.

200, the ranges you've listed are:

2m - 2 milli ohms - .002

200k - 2 kilo ohms - 200,000

20k - 20 k-ohms - 20,000

2k - 2,000

200

If it's a M instead of an m that would make the first scale 2 Megohms - 2,000,000

All the different settings do is move the decimal point. So if you had a true ohm load of 1.666666666 and you had it set to one setting it might show as 2 ohm and another might show it as 1.67 and another might show it as 1.6667. I hope that makes sense.
