yea i know ill prolly get flammed but my friend let me borrow his dmm..its this one http://www.tequipment.net/UEiDL99B.html and where do i put the dial when using it to set the gain on a amplifer..and how do i use this to check the ohms on my subwoofer?

You're going to turn the Dial to the AC voltage setting, probably 200V scale should be sufficient. The symbol is most likely a squiggly line, like this ~

Plug the black cable into the common ground spot, and the red cable into the Voltage spot.

Put the dial on 1000V AC.

As for the resistance, put it on the 40Kohm setting.
