Ok I am running a Lanzar 1500D. I am going to get a small amp for my mids and highs. Ok now my question is if i run my distro block, 4 guage into it, and run 8 guage out, if i keep the 8 guage wire to a minimal size (couple inches or so) running to my 1500D, will that be alrite, as long as I keep it short???

I agree. 0awg is pretty costy though. 0 to the trunk, then 4 from the block to the amps.. if you have all your amps in the trunk. But if not, then same idea. :-D

If you want to get wire cheaper, hit up this like:

http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/weldingdepot/0010x.html

It's the same basic thing as the stuff you buy at car audio shops, just not as "pretty" nor as costly. I haven't personally bought any cable from there (found out about it too late), but I believe others on the forum have. Try doing a search for "welding depot" on the forum and you should find some posts about it.

Actually, it would defeat the point of using a distro block at all. You could just run the wire for each amp directly from the battery itself, but that requires a rather ugly wiring job and a trick battery terminal to support it. Besides, using a single wire into a distro block makes it easier to fuse and secure things.

what if i run 2 guage to the distro block, then branch off to 4 guage to each amp?

also what about a distro block with a 0/1, 2, 4 guage input, and four 8 guage outputs.

This is for the Lanzar 1500D, and a smaller amp to power mids and highs. Will those work???
