Disadvantage of 1/2" MDF vs 3/4" MDF?

Yea, what's the difference? Why is 3/4" reccomended so much?

And the reason I'm asking is because I have a small space to work with, and that extra 1/2" of total airspace could really help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Hmm, how about 5/8"? And this is assuming a Kappa Perfect 12" in, IDK, "6 top and 9" bottom or something total (including wood space). Is 3/4" almost 100% necesary (assuming I'm pushing it at full power as well).

That's the box my dad brought home, which is 1/2". I wasn't planning on using this box (the bottom of it only goes 6", I'd need at least 7" internal), but it did get me thinking that 1/2" or 5/8" MDF would be better for my small truck allowing more airspace in less, well, space //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
