So i went into my local shop the other day to look at how much a viper 5900 would be for my truck, and i ask the guy how much extra it would be to get the glass break sensor installed (the 506t), he says they dont have that part in stock anymore but they do have the 509u, which is an ultrasonic sensor that you mount up on your A pillars. Supposedly it detects air pressure in the cabin, he says it works alot better than the 506t. So basically im just asking if anyone had this ultrasonic sensor installed in their car or know of anyone who has and what their opinions are about it compared to the traditional 506t glass break sensor

yes, DEI tested it and I confirmed it. Took a Chevy Tahoe and sealed it up with the 509 installed with a guy laying behind the back seats. when armed, he started breathing heavily and the alarm went off. he did not move. I confirmed this test with my brother. It works!
