Using a hifonics 1605D amp pushing ~1600w to two type r's + 90amp stock alternator, will i be looking at a shitload of dimming? If i upgrade my battery to a yellow top will that help?

Nope. You need to look into an alternator.

What size should I plan on getting if I want to run the above and then new speakers/amp? Like a guestimate?

i run a 1606 and a comp amp (200 rms) on my stock 90 alt with bad dimming. can tget a alt for my car so i put a YT in the back and a reg batt up front with an isolator. the yt only drops to like 13.9 on heavy bass hits stays at like 14.5 almost costantly. best bet if you cant get a alt like me

i'm pretty sure i can get a new alternator. the car is a 99 saturn sl2.

Alt is the only way to truly cure a voltage dropping problem...
