Dilaudid

I got it introveineously in the hosp.. it was amazing.. LOL boom... pain GONE feeling goooooooooooooooddd and I have never done a drug in my life.. Needless to say, I got a boost "to go" just before I jeft the hospital.. I was there for a kidney stone OWWWWWIIIEEEEEEEEE!! I did not know it came in pill form though... They gave me Vic's for home use but they didnt even take the edge off.

I'm suppose to take this 3 times daily, for the next 15 days to see if it helps more than the Percocets. After the 15th day, I go back to see whether or not I stay on these, or try something else. I told them I would rather just have some surgery to help with my back, instead of relying on any medications.
LOL dont make any plans the first day or two, see what it does first!

Kidney stones are the WORST... WORST PAIN EVAR...

i know i'm going to murder the spelling, but i had viral meningitas. that was horrible. they gave me several other pain meds, and didn't touch the pain. but that stuff did.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The biggest thing to watch with Dilaudid is respiratory depression. That's how it works... It suppresses the smooth muscles, which compose most of your internal organs, including your diaphram (which is what allows you to breathe). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I thought it stimulated the opioid receptors in the brain??//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
...Yes, but I wasn't getting into that... I was simply stating that it acts on the smooth muscles, which is caused by the stimulation of those opioid receptors in the brain... That's why you watch for respiratory depression, constipation, etc because it EFFECTS those muscles! I was trying to make it simple, lol. Sorry for the confusion...

and good job for knowing that!
