Difference from BXi-1500d to KX1200?

I have a Hifonics BXI-1500d which is servely overrated (benched at 983 @ 1ohm @ 13.8v) and I am running this to my MD Naplam. I would like to get a better amp, more power which, I hope, will make a louder napalm. I am asking you if a Kicker KX 1200, or an amp that puts out around 1400-1600w @ 1ohm will be a big step over my BXi-1500d.

And if there is any other amps that would suffice for my circumstances. The $250 shipped price of KX1200's is very nice, but if another amp costs a bit more, I am not going to fuss.

in theory the kicker would be better but there are also other factors to look at. Like you electrical system, unless the 1500d was tested out of the car maybe ur car doesnt have enough in it to bring the amp to its full potential. Also maybe gettin the new amp, even though it should be able to put more power down might not be able to because of the above problems.

And why not fuses? If u have decided against them, maybe look for an amp that has on-board fusing.

The numbers for the 1500d I posted were a bench test, not with my amp, but another.

I am not against fusing...

And as for my electrical, I have YT.

I picked it up off a guy from the forum. It was only used for 2 months and in great shape. That was the price shipped too. Yea prolly depending on electrical i have heard of them producing those numbers. They are rated at 1200 at 12.5 volts. I should see if a shop will bench test mine sometime. It would be interesting to see actual numbers.

Yea...

baseballer has a US Amps M2D2 for ~$350 so I might pick that up. It is rated at like 1510w @ 1ohm, and my guess is it is underrated, so I might pick that up.

I mean for Christmas I only get 1 thing from my Parents and it's between:

100sq ft of Damplifier

Yellow Top

M2D2 or An Amp like it.

That's what I will do.

I am still looking for the answer to my question..will running an amp like the kx1200.1 to my Sub, give a gain SPL at all? Or not really?
