can someone explain to me what's the difference between a 1-Channel Mono amp and an amp with 2 channels or more?

i have 2 15" kicker subs with a 1-channel hifonics amp

so would i need a 2-channel amp?

i'm retarded about this topic, please advice me, thanks in advance for your help.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

no, you should use a mono amp for subs. The human ear can't detect where the low frequencies are coming from. Use 2 channel amps for speakers (coaxial or components)
you can bridge 2 channel amps to run mono. . .

use what you want as long as it works

thats a perfect match and will work on stock electrical.that set up will be stupid loud.get it.i just sold my p1000bd today.it was on 1 15in L5 and it was too loud for me.had to be hittin in the mid 140s ported into a reg. cab s-10.good luck, hope this helps

would be good. are ur subs dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm??
they're dual 4 ohm

thanks, but i wasn't sure if i would need a 2000w amp (http://www.millionbuy.com/hifbxi2008.html) since my subs are 2000watts? or do i just need an amp that hits the sub's 1000w rms like this rockford amp?

but is it better to have an amp for the RMS or for the peak power of the sub?

(hifonics 2000w amp above is cheaper lol) just asking tho.. i'm still gona go with the rockford amp if aiming for the RMS power is better

also, what about this amp for the RMS power of the sub..

http://www.millionbuy.com/crup10001.html

.. if that's a bad choice, can someone reccommend a 1000w amp that's a little cheaper than the rockford one above?

thanks again dudes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

It's still a mono block amp, and only actually has 1 channel, they just put 2 sets of connection terminals on the amp to make wiring a pair of subs easier!
