they're supposed to charge $0.25 per cut after two cuts. and the cuts are only as accurate as the person using the saw. also, depending on the saw they can't cut anything less than 16" because of the potential kickback.

I worked there for 6 months and I used to cut down under 1 inch. But then again, I knew what I was doing, other guys in my department were always grumpy and didnt care what they were doing. Hence the bad cuts.

And the saw can't do angles

 
yes we know and yes they **** at it.

I had one person at lowes who would take the time and do it right, if he didnt work id rather cut it with a spoon with a sharpened edge. It'd probably be closer.

 
hmmm....i just assembled my box.....only one out of 6 boards was off......by 1/8 of an inch, guess it depends on who is doing it for you, the guy who was cutting mine thought it was really cool that it was going to be a HUGE box for a trunk car loaded with 6 12"s
