Well I'm certainly not taking blame for anything on this issue. I did appoint him a moderator, but then took care of the fact when BOB didn't follow the rules. Not a fact of me being "wrong" about anything at all.

Im not saying you were in the wrong about banning him, he probably said something and deserved it. He did break the rules but he helps out around here and I think he should get another chance.

I'm sure he did help alot on here, but so do alot of other members who don't break the rules 2x over like that. I can't remember exactly what all happened, still checking on this though.

Im sorry you feel that way, but truth be told it was misft who made the mistake. He knew the rules, he still broke them. The moderator staff would have only been making a mistake by allowing him to break the rules without facing the consequences any other member would have to deal with. For every person that thinks we should have shown him favoritism in allowing him to knowingly break rules, there'd be 100 other people that felt we should not allow favoritism for anyone. Unfortunately, its just that black and white.

Lets face it guys, if he wanted to come back, he could and would. Someone earlier said he realizes he could change his IP and come back, since his main account is not banned, but that he doesnt want to bother with that. Changing IP's is pretty easy, at best its simply turning your modem off for a while and then rebooting it, and at worst its a simple matter of contacting your ISP and asking for a new IP addy. It sound like between us discussing it in the moderator back room, myself and a couple other mods looking into it, and now Goob looking into it, we've put forth more effort to 'resolve' this situation than misfit has himself. He was a pretty decent guy (most of the time), and yes he was very helpful (most of the time), but if he doesn't want to put any effort into coming back, I dont see why people are upset over it.

Im confident Goob was not aware of any allegations against Bob when he appointed him. I know I wasn't aware of them. Sometimes you guys act like you think Goob doesn't want to appoint the best candidates, which makes absolutely no sense (not pointing this at you mossberg, just making a general observation).

Sorry again about the turmoil you've gone through over your transaction with Bob. Hope you get it resolved to your satisfaction.

What I'm really trying to get at is that having an AE really isn't worth an IP ban and you guys know that. It commonly dealt with by a normal ban. I have no clue why he was IP banned, if you can show me a reason that his AE was dealt with in a more severe manner then I would drop it, but I have yet to see a reason why.

I know this thread is closed, but Id like to add my 2 cents quick. Geoff, it generally takes a lot to get an IP ban. Did his actions warrant it? I wasnt there, Goob had to make that call, and so far as I understand it, it was not known this was an AE of misfit, so it wasnt anything personal. I wasnt there, but from what Ive read and been told, he committed the double whammy of posting content deemed inappropriate, AND did it from an AE.
