just wire it up correctly and you'll be alright, if something was damaged you would of known immediately

Update: for anyone that cares.

I took the sub out today and checked it over with the DMM. Both coils read 2.4ohms. I wired it right and reslapped it in. It really isn't any louder but sounds MUCH better indeed.
