Did I make a mistake (JL w1v2 sub)?

I've got a 2003 4runner, and I'm wanting to replace the stock JBL sub with an aftermarket sub (and adding an amp to power it). The stock sub is a 2 ohm DVC, pushing 45 watts max. There is lot of drone, not what I want. I placed an order for a JL 8w1v2 and a JL amp to push it. I'm really considering sending it back and waiting until funds allow for something better. Part of me says the JL will have to be leaps and bounds better than the stock setup, but I'm really thinking there may be something else better out there worth waiting for. So, what's the opinion on the JL w1v2 subs? I'm just looking for some tight/punchy bass (SQ). I think this is the ticket, but need some reassurance before I decide to do the install. I should also mention, this is going to be placed in the factory sub box, I can't sacrifice room in the cargo area, and this is also why I picked the JL sub (under 4" mounting depth). Any thoughts? Thanks!
