Did I do good?

I just purchased a used Arc Audio KS 900.6 6-channel amp. I was going to get a new Zapco ST-5X, but I've been learning a lot about Arc Audio and they seem to be putting out some very impressive audio equipment. I paid $300 for the used Arc Audio and I could have purchased the new Zapco for $280.

I just liked the specs a little better, especially the S/N ratio numbers: 85db for the Zapco, 107db for the Arc Audio. That seems like quite a big difference.

Was this the better choice? Not that it matters, I already paid for the Arc Audio KS 900.6.

Actually I think you made a fine choice.. Your amp has better specs all around and is worth way more than that Zapco ST-5X
Thanks, that makes my buyer's remorse dissipate. I was considering the Zapco because it was Zapco and because it was new. But, I took a chance on the Arc Audio.

yea, I don't think the Zapco amps are near what they used to be back in the early 90's. You prob did better with what you got ...
I thought the Zapco amp was very inexpensive, which made me question it. The Arc Audio KS 900.6 lists for $879. Now, I know just because it is expensive does not mean it will be a quality amp. That being said, there is no way I was going to throw down almost $900 for an amplifier. But $300 for a used one, I am willing to give it a shot. I find it interesting that Arc Audio does not sell any of it's stuff on the internet, except through their own website. They state this in the description of every product they offer. They go out of their way to explicitly say that Woofers, etc. is NOT an authorized dealer and if you buy from them you are buying at your own risk. They must really dislike them to publish that in their website.

My Arc Audio KS 900.6 amp will be delivered to me today, but a question has come to my attention. My complete upgrade will end up being an Eclipse CD8464 head unit, Arc Audio KS 900.6 amp, Eclipse 6x9's in rear deck, Hertz ESK ESK165L.5 2-way components up front, and a JL Audio CP106LG-W3V3 6" micro sub. With this amp will I need to do anything additional for power? I just have stock alternator and a regualr 12V battery in the car, currently.

I mainly like the Zapco amps for aesthetics. The old ones are solid. I just shipped my Zapco Studio 300x yesterday. It was a good amp and I'm sad to see it go.

Upgraded to a new Ampere though
