Did i blown my subs.

Houstan, we have problem. Sub is making a wierd noise. Sounds kinda like air rushing out of a gap by the sub that i tried to seal with weather stripping. Could it be a blown spider? I played it for 3 seconds then turned it off. Thoughts? Just put it in a ported box i made. It was running fine 3 hours ago in a sealed box.

Gonna have to wait till tomorrow. What could have caused this? The music was playing very soft for about 3 seconds.

If it was playing so soft I'm not sure if the sub is blown or not. Simply pushing on the center of the sub can tell you if it's blown or not, it shouldn't make any noise, feel overly stiff, and should feel smooth and not scratchy. If you have a multimeter measure the resistance of the sub. Post pictures of the spider if you can

Im thinking its air rushing out of screw hole that i couldnt seal very well. Would that cause the sub to move but not play much sound?

i made it. Could the box be the problem?

Well, everything looks fine. Time to reseal it.

Resealed the box and.....WOW. Its like night and day. Never going sealed again.

No, the sub cutout is to big in one place where i sanded it. Little weather stripping and electrical tape later and wala, sounds great.
