Diamond vs. FI.

I am running a 12'' d6 at 500 rms right now. Should i go with another d6 and run both at 500 rms each. (amp is a d6 1000.1) or should I get rid of the d6 and go with a FI q 15? (1000rms @ 1 ohm) which will be louder/cleaner?

2 12"s will have a bit of an advantage in cone area so a better chance to be louder but the Fi Q will probably sound nicer...

I don't know if your amp puts out a true 1000 RMS, but if it doesn't get one that does.

Either way - I would definitely get the 15" Q in a ported box. You won't be dissapointed.

I went from 1 12" off 500 watts, to my 15" mag off 1000 and it is a huge difference.

Honestly i would go with the Q, the difference isn't that much between 2 12's and 1 15 in cone area plus the Q is more comparable to the d9 than the d6 so you'd have greater output, and get lower. I have a 15 fi Q which was an upgrade from my 2 12tc2+, just like the tc1000 and it gets alot louder and hit lower than my 12's did, while blending very well with my front stage.

P.S. they were both getting the same power 450 a piece to the twelves and 900 to the 15

send the d6 more power if you can, i didnt really like the one i have until i gave it around 900 or so.

I really liked the D6's that I had. They didn't like 2400 rms daily though. LOL whodathunkit? Seriously though, that D6 could use a decent amount more power. I'd prolly pick up another D6 12 and a 2000ish watt amp for the pair. It would be a nice setup

Q will outshine a D6 by a mile.........Havening owned both personally

My pair of D6s used to run off a D61500.1 , so I am assuming that 1000.1 u have would be too small

for 2 12s even though its an underrated amp
