First up is a Diamond Audio M661a component set. It is about 3 years old but only has 1 year of use on it. It was in my car for a year then the car broke so they got taken out and put in the rear deck of my new car and I have never really used the rear fill. They sounded much better in my doors than in my rear deck. Functionality is a 7or 8 out of 10 only because they are kind of old. Cosmetically they are probably 4 out of ten. The reason so low is the rear of both magnets is rusted. This is not due to leaky doors but poor chrome plating diamond used. The same thing happened to my Hex’s in a brand new car. The only blemish on either cone is a slight dent from a screwdriver but does not affect performance. The crossover covers are kind of beat up but the crossovers are fully functional.
Next up is a Diamond Audio S600s component set. It is about 1 year old. I just removed them from my car last month. Functionality is 4 out of 10. One of the midbass drivers has a minor rattle. The kick bass is tight and clear but when a sustained note of probably around 200 hertz from a guitar plays there is a light rattle. Also one of the tweeters has a small dent on the cone. I have no idea where it came from but it doesn’t affect playability. Cosmetically 8 out of ten. They have the same rust on the back of the magnet as the M6 set. This is why I believe it is just cheap chrome.
