Kinda Old School
Read good things and I'm more than likely going to be getting a smaller sports car, so my two SE 15's might have to take a hike soon.

I've heard hellacious stories about the overall SQL out of the Diamonds, but what's there best sub? I know, I probably should have researched more, and I'm on my way to it now. But D9 vs the TDX series...also, what kind of power handling do these jokers need?

Just looking for opinions on 10 or 12" Higher level SQL woofers. All input appreciated.

Thanks

Ryan

The D9 and the TDX are basically the same sub, slightly different cone and spider material and that is the only change. The cone is black on a D9, and tan on a TDX. I loved my TDX10, and I've put two D912's in a customers F250 ex.cab sealed and in both applications they rocked. I'm looking to upgrade to a single D915 to get a little more low end then my 10, and also because I have more space in my Saab then in my little nissan truck.

Truthful, and I hope you're still watching.

Will I get more/less output out of the TDX than the D9, in your opinion? I LOVE the looks of the TDX 10, and they're a tad cheaper than the D9's. Just curious.

Thanks for your response.

You'll get the same... if you read on the website it is listed as the "D9 with TDX technology" cough they just renamed the sub so it would sound new for '05 cough. You might notice that the RMS rating has changed. According to the Diamond VP for the west coast, the rating on the TDX was very conservative, and they just upped the rating on the D9 to reflect that. Or at least thats what he said when I called him to ask what the difference was between the TDX and D9, since no one where I work knew and neither did our rep. Also you will notice that the RMS ratings on TDX subs changed in different versions of the owners manual.

yay, my 800th post was about DAT!

No I didnt.

Any chance you would talk to me on AIM? I have a few questions that, assuming you have a little free time, I'd like to ask?

BigBoyGrubbs is my s/n if so, and if not.

Here goes lol

Truthfully I'm considering one of these Diamonds for my next setup. Issue is, I can do two sealed on about 600w rms per sub, or one ported on 1200w(or can wire fo 600, whichever)

Do these subs do fairly well sealed? If so, would they do okay in .75 sealed per 10?

Should I even consider 12's and say 1.00^ft per sub?

Grubbs stop changing your mind lol. Gonna break the bank //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
