Depression, Anxiety, Suicidal thoughts

My wife is clinically depressed, has ptsd from a screwed up childhood, her father shot her mother in the head-twice, she survived, then he tried to shoot the wife's sisters but the gun didn't fire, then he shot himself in the head. He died. The younger surviving sister, took her life on 01OCT15, she was bipolar/schizophrenic, and the other surviving sister and my wife are taking it really hard. I pray for those that are suffering through this terrible disease.

Yeah, that's really messed up

I've had my share of thoughts about it but i've never really seriously considered doing it. Never been remotely close to doing it. Just regular to bad dose of depression i suppose. My mom had the same thing and drank heavily and abused prescription drugs. Best advice she gave me.

Me: Hey mom, how do you deal with it? I mean what's the best way to get past your problems and your depression?

Mom: Keep your *** in high gear and your mind in neutral.

So yes, keeping busy helps me the most. Drugs just hide a problem, they don't fix it. Well, for me they never have. To each his own.

When my late wife passed away in her sleep 3 1/2 years ago, about a week after, I had put our son in the bed and began my nightly self medication of vodka and orange juice. I was wallowing in self pity, I carry a gun for a living, and I found myself sitting on my couch with my .45 in my hand, telling myself that all that I had to do was walk to the bedroom, shoot him in the head as he slept, then turn the gun on myself. It only lasted for a few seconds, some will scoff at what I am about to say but oh well, I was lifted out of it by the Grace of GOD. Depression and mental illness are very real, and many people suffer with it every day, some of you know exactly what I am talking about. My heart cries out for any/all that deal with it on a daily basis, whether it be care providers, or the family members that have to watch their loved ones suffer.

Right now, I'm thinking you shouldn't own a gun..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Great, now I'm thirsty for orange juice!

Considering the fact that it says boom-boom under your username, I'm still concerned.
That was almost 4yrs ago dude. I am more than alright now. Appreciate the concern though.
If i remember clearly boom boom had to do with his younger son, calling his system boom boom i think it was?

Could be wrong here.

Probably something we'll never understand , the good thing is he didn't act on it and it looks like got past a hard part of his life. Keep your head up y'all ... Nobody ever said life would be easy.
