Deployed Soldiers helping out sick kids

Thanks for looking guys, my name is SPC Kenneth Bass and I'm currently deployed in the Army. I have a 9 year cousin that was diagnosed with Leukemia while I was home on leave a couple weeks before I came out here. She has been seen as Duke Childrens Hospital and they have been amazing. Seeing the pics of the kids that are being helped there and how great the hospital is, is truly touching and makes me proud as an American to see the consideration that the people working there have for these kids. So I decided that I wanted to do something to give back to the hospital. Duke Childrens Hospital falls under the childrens miracle network of hospitals meaning that they wont turn kids away based on an inability of the parents to pay. But that is funded through donations. I have started a charity on facebook and have created a website. More details can be found on there but the general idea is that us deployed Soldiers will be hosting an event on 14 July and we will do 1 pushup for every $10 raised and run a mile for every $500 raised. Donations can be made from our website and is hosted through the childrens miracle network. ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE!! As soon as you donate with credit/debit card it gives you the option to print out the tax form. I am asking for as much help as possible spreading the word and trying to raise some money for a great cause. Thanks in advance for any help and any donations received. Pictures of kids being seen there will be uploaded as word spreads and I get more help from parents there.

Thanks again guys

Sorry to hear about your cousin, but kudos, man.

Children's Miracle Network, Make A Wish Foundation, and St. Jude's are 3 of my favorite charities.

I will be visiting your FB page.... and thanks for your military service, as well.

Thanks man. They are some of my favorite too. Childrens Miracle Network has been great with the help that they have given me on getting everything set up. I just wish the news agencies would help out. I had NBC17 run a story on us which was great but the other news agencies decided that since they had already run the story they didnt want to. Kills me that all of them have done a ton of stories on the guy that killed the 17 Afghan civilians but won't show when we try to do something good.

Starting this charity and all has definitely changed my perspective on what is important and all. My son was born the month before I left to come out here and I couldn't imagine if it was my kid going through this. Everyone can afford $20 you know. And its tax deductible.

Thankfully my cousin is in remission now, but this money helps fund future research to help out our kids and others that may be affected in the future. I know **** well that I only want the best care for my kids

A lot of folks can, but for the bunches who can't , or won't , just something I thot about recently regarding charities:

Around 300 million peeps in the US. Say for the sake of argument that 2/3 of them are of working age, so 200 million "with the means" to contribute to a charity. Around 10% unemployment, so drop it 180 million. Say my numbers are off, so just call it 150 million.

Each choose 5 different charities to contribute a measly $1 to each year. Only costs each person $5, but charities would be looking at 3/4 of a $billion$ in extra contributions....

Best wishes!

Thanks for the support !

This young man is Ethan Blevins. He had Leukemia and it went into remission only to come back worse than before. He had to have a stem cell transplant which destroyed his immune system on top of all of the chemo and radiation he was receiving.

Try it at bigsoldiersforlittlesoldiers.com I will get my buddy to take a look at it. I don't know why it wouldn't work. I looked at it less than an hour ago and it was working. @SpiderMonkey, i can promise you that it isn't spam. Look at the pages and all. We are on the Duke facebook page and Childrens Miracle Network page. Unfortunately though there are pieces of **** in this world that would try to make money off of manipulating these kids situations.

If the page still isn't working for you, you can try the URL above. It works for me still, don't know if maybe it is security settings on your computer or anything

Stem cells are going to help. I've had cancer myself, so I can understand the issue.
That ***** man, hope you are doing better now. Ethan is going into remission now and doing a lot better. He actually has an appointment today to find out when he can leave hopefully.

Bro, it is still spam. Unless you got preauthorization from the forum admin, you are soliciting with SPAM by definition.
Don't worry though. Most of the mods on this forum are about as sharp as a posthole. You should be okay.
Oh, ok. I thought you meant spam as in not legit and me trying to scam people out of money or something. I didn't see anything really about this type of thing, I thought it was characterized more towards me selling a product as a vendor. Hopefully they don't say anything, it is for a good cause, but I will talk with them if they have an issue with it. Plan on staying here for a while, not trying to get banned or anything
