Well. I have yet another positive story to add to the list.
I went from this:
Inspiron 6000
Centrino 1.60 Ghz processor
512 mb of ram (I added 2gb, but it only came with 512 originally)
40gb 5400rpm HDD
128 mb ATI Mobility Radeon X300
Wireless b/g
Only about 1.5 Hours of battery life
To this:
Vostro 1500
Core2Duo T7500 at 2.2 Ghz
3gb ram
160gb 7200rpm impact-sensing HDD with pre-set partitions
256 mb Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT
Wirless a/b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.0
About 4 hours of battery life
I went through and tallied up all the options. Came up to over $1800. My Inspiron cost about 1600 after rebates and such almost 3 years ago. Needless to say, the extra few hundred dollars I spent on the extended warranty was definitely worth it.
