Delay in bass on some songs?!?!

So basically right now when i play certain songs i get a delay in the bass. It will be a bit quite then you will hear it kick back in. It just started happening recently. For the longest time i had no issues with my system. Recently i downsized boxes with a friend so i have something closer to spec. The box had already been wired so i left it that way. I dont know if thats the problem though because some songs sound perfect. I have been messing with he lpf quite a bit trying to get the sound i want. I feel that maybe this is why. I have a lpf on my deck and my amp so i feel this could be causing some of it. I have been trying to match the frequecies to get rid of it but i dont know if thats it anymore. I need to do more diagnostics but i was hoping someone on here has experienced this. Im gonna try to turn the filter off on the deck and just use the amps filter. Im hoping that changes things. Thanks for the help.

does it seem to happen on bass heavy songs?

I would be careful if i were you. this problem is often caused by the amp going into protection or the voice coil overheating

ive definitly stepped back on some of the bass enhancement on the deck and the amp but some songs that hit hella hard were fine it seemed almost as if it happedend when there would be a longer delay between hits. when bass was consistant it seemed to be fine. many songs are fine and these are songs with heavy bass. This is why i am somewhat stumped. A few of my attempts to correct this problem have made it better which leads me to believe it might be something to do with my filters.

thanks

Im basically asnwering this so that the thread is not useless. Bottom line when i connected my power wire last i must have rushed and it pushed back a lot of the wires and i dont think i tightened it well either. This lead to a bad connection which probably got worse as the vibration from the sub loosened it more. after creating a new lead on the wire and double checking that i had a tight connection i powered up again and after a couple songs i could conclude that pure sound was restored. Jumping to conclusions and overcomplicated solutions can make a simple problem much worse. This is going into my book of car audio lessons learned. thanks for the help
