p9 isn't an 06' model deck there bubba. In all fairness, he did say 06' models.

i retract my statement, the 780 has Auo T/A just like the 880, so I guess the only difference between 880 and 780 might be the 880 MIGHT and I say MIGHT have pro mode. I know the 780 has the same 3-way crossover neatwork like the 770 did, in that you can't bandpass the mid but you can adjust cut off points for high, mid, low.

Well I Just bought one of these! Hopefully it's as good as I've been expecting. I'll be putting up a review as soon as it gets in. Though I won't be able to give it a very good review for 3 weeks or so when I'm completley done w/ my system!!!

Comparing this (just based on specs) to an 860, would it be an upgrade, lateral move, downgrade?

it does say it has a 16 band eq as compared to a 13 on the 860.....i think it looks a lot better too..other than that..pretty lateral move

9800, 980 won't be released til' mid may is what i'm told. i'm amazed the 880's are out though i mean 95% of stores that i know of don't even have a display yet. as for 860 vs. 880 or 980, the 880 and 980 have 3 more bands of graphic EQ, but 1v less on the RCA's, other than that a niftier color screen.

Yeah my pioneer rep told me he was going to try and get us a batch full by mid April. They first said end of March but yeah were already there.

Dunno how true it was, but I was told the first week of March at MERA, so far so good since the 880s came in.

9800, 980 won't be released til' mid may is what i'm told. i'm amazed the 880's are out though i mean 95% of stores that i know of don't even have a display yet. as for 860 vs. 880 or 980, the 880 and 980 have 3 more bands of graphic EQ, but 1v less on the RCA's, other than that a niftier color screen.

i wanna say right around 475-500 for the 880. i can't remember but anymore and the 980 won't sell, any less and the 780 wouldn't sell. i mean there's only 130 bucks difference from the 780 to 980 so somewhere around 475-500 for the 880 sounds right.

the 880 doesn't have the full color screen does it? maybe i just read wrong but i thought it was only the 780 and the 980....btw, is the 980 still going ot be a dual face unit?
