Decisions decisions....

Ok, up until today, I was pretty much sold on a JL Audio 12w7 w/ 2 500/1 amps. Now, I'm lookin at an Eclipse Titanium 15" (TI?) and a Phoenix Gold 15:0:1 amp to power it. Looking at about 1200 watts w/ the setup. It'll go into a 95 Eclipse, ported and tuned low (28-33htz.) Now, which will be a better mix of spl/sq? The PG amp, I can get for about $350, and the Eclipse 15" for about $600. No discounts on the JL stuff.

Any suggestions on this setup? Money's not a huge deal right now, got about $1500-$2000 to spend on this setup, and want to have some left over for good mids and highs and an amp for them.

The 15" will have more oputput, but look at space requirements. I mean you don't ahev a huge car. The W7 will sound amazing, and the EQ processing on the JL amps is amazing....me, overall, I'd do the W7 with maybe a tad more power versus buying two smaller amps, the JL 1000/1

i'd thought about that, but at the same time, the 1000/1 is a pretty large amp compared to the PG 15:0:1, and like you said, I don't have a huge car. I'm willing to give up pretty much my whole hatch area for my sub setup, so space isn't that much of a problem.
