2 ed ov.2s sealed (with nine.1 package), 2 diamond D6s sealed, 2 re SEs sealed, or 1 Id max ported, all 12" running rms. Which combo will sound loudest/best/mix etc.

I would choose the single IDMAX...

Most of my friends roll with one or two JLs, usually w3s, I'm trying to put something together to beat them out.

That isnt even comparable really. The idmax outshines all those. I would recommend that ported or sealed. They sound just as good sealed, plus they dont take huge enclosures. If you cant get that then I would look into the Diamnond d6's. Those sound good as well, but not like the idmax. Good luck!

so does the max no longer have problems with its voice coils alignments or something now? i heard a while ago that they were having problems with this. is this all cleared now???

i'd personally go for the ov.2s just because i like doing business with ben, but the d6s are a close second to me

1 supersub vs. 2 great subs-all of those set ups are great, all of them have advantages and disadvantages- all of them outshine 2 JL w3...I'm running two 13 Ov. 2's vented with 800 watts a peice...148TL...it all depends on how deep your pockets are...
