ok, so had some car trouble and now i only have enough cash to pick up an amp or subs. since i have 2 ID8's right now im going to get an amp and pick up subs later. i have decided that i want ~1200W @1 ohm and ~500@ 4 ohms. less than 1 ohm stable is always nice, but not needed in this case. the ID8's are rated at 300W RMS so the 500@ 4 ohms is more or less for daily listening. then i can toss them down to 1 ohm and gain apropriatly to push 600 or more to them when i feel like it. an amp of this power level gives me some room to upgrade to 10's in the future and still have some headroom. i also hate amps that cant do rated. since im going to be on stock electrical i will probobly be looking at ~12.9-13.5V, i hope to do the big 3 while im at it, but no garuntees. also i would really like an efficent amp, my trunk tends to get crowded and i would hate my amp to go into protect constantly because it gets hot.

so far i have been looking at the following amps:

AQ1200D

SAZ 1200

Crecendo BC2000D

Audiopipe 1500.1D

MB onyx 1600D

i really like the AQ 1200, it looks nice, has good reviews, and overall seems to be beefy. but im trying to stay in the $200.00 range so i have a bit of cash left for install materials. any imput would be apreciated. specificly what amps do rated and last long.

also, i was looking at the ED Nine.1, seems like it would be **** near perfect except i cant seem to find any info on reliability.

I just bought a couple of the new ab vfl micro amps. I havent got to install yet but i love the small footprint. I bought the 4480 which is 2200 rms. The 1880 is 900 rms and the 2680 is 1320 rms. The 2680 (1320rms) should run around $200. Amps are 1 ohm stable and i have heard that they can also be ran at .5 ohm

Here is a couple pics of my 4480:

hmm, theres a Hifonics HFI2000D in the classafieds for 150 shipped. im looking up reviews right now, its more power than i need, but i wont have to push its limits to get what i need from it.

I would look for a used Kicker kx1200.1. The best 1200 watt amp i could find when looking for one. My birthsheet says 1550 watts. An extra 350 watts, not bad. This is a 1 ohm stable amp that can be ran lower than 1 ohm with a good electrical

That Crescendo is a 2k. You can also add in a DC 1.2k. I'd go with AQ, AB, SAZ, or DC personally, whichever you can find the best price on. You probably won't notice a huge difference between them tbh.

how about arc audio ks1200.1? i almost got the ab4480.1, but couldn't find any info, so i am getting the arc. it's class h s/n-112, damping @ 4ohms-1000. 850@4, 1200@2, and 1000@1. from what i could find, these are underated also. there are some for sale on here.
