Decided not to get a 12W3V2-2... Good replacements?

Hello everybody!

I have a question: up until now I had my heart set on getting a JL 12W3V3-2 sub as a nice SQ oriented sub that could put out a decent amount of noise, but I have been reading a lot and it looks like in general I can do better for the price of ~$180. I would prefer to spend around 150 on the sub, as I have already bought the amp (and I'm a cheap student) but 200 is my upper limit.

In short, what are some of the superior 2 ohm 12" SQ oriented subs for around the same price (or slightly less) as the JL 12W3V3-2?

Alpine Type R or Type S

w3 is not a bad choice though.

if you dont mind used equipment....you can find a used w6v2 for around $200 sometimes.

alpine type R hands down. puts out a ton of power and very good sound quality. i have 2 of them couldnt be happier

I was looking into the SSA DCON, it looks like they are on backorder for quite a while. Anyone no where I can find one for sale? I think it's between these:

DCON

Type S

Type R

Dayton sub?

Any other subs worth looking into?
