I know you guys dont like big storys so ill go right to the cliffs:

Picked out a vehicle june 10th, gave my $1000 down payment.

Sent to be safetied

Saftied, but shop closed before he could pick it up, june 30.

I got the shop's number, tired of waiting. no anwser.

Still no vehicle

Should I said fuck it, get my down payment back and go somewhere else? I havent signed anything so I should have no problems right?

More shit went down today. The dealership gave me a "loaner" car, I got pulled over for not having plates. Turns out, the insurance pass he gave me was invalid and I ended up with $900 in tickets and the car got towed. I know CA.com is great in legal advice so is there any way I can pin the tickets on him?

I was about to type out a decent response then saw you are from Canada and said fuck it.

Rules are different here. Insurance pass? F that. In America, you are responsible for your own insurance the second it leaves the lot.

Yeah, I would have been responsible for it if it was under my name, But it was a loaner car. It would have been all good if I could have just gotten the pass and stuff but since it's still the dealership car I cant. Apparently the insurance pass is only good for 5 days and I had the car for over a month.

no doubt...... Since your from winnipeg, you know what im talking about with the insurance pass thingy. what the hell would you do??

The cars is insured.

If a car is insured and someone loans it to you, you are covered.

If someone loans you a car with no insurance or proper plates and you get pulled over you get ****ed.

You can't do much.. You can try taking them to Canadian civil court and sue them.. you won't need a lawyer..

But i was under the impression that It was all good as it had the pass on it..... didnt need plates.

Pass?

It's tricky because they are a car business and you are trusting that they would have their shit in order..

Is it really your responsibility to check for insurance?

I guess that's up to the judge..

In Canada it's worth it to fight every single ticket you get down to parking tickets.

When you go to court to either set a court date or pay the fine their will be lawyers hanging around trying to get business from people like you..

Talk to them and see what they can do for you..

They are good because they work in the courts.. will know the Crown and the officers..
